Since I started the series on Google Adsense, I’ve been following with interest the latest news about this powerful money making system run by Google. And I must say that Google, always wanting to be ahead, is working on something that will be of great benefit to all content publishers. There are indications that the Google Adsense Team is working on improving Google AdSense’s contextual targeting capabilities.

In an email sent out to subscribers some days ago, Woojin Kim, AdSense Product Manager, revealed that the Team has been working on how the Google adsense matches ads to the content of your webpages.

What the team is working on is to ensure that the ads served on your webpages are more targeted than before. According to Woojin Kim, “Our machines are very good at the matching process, but there are still a few cases where their definition of relevance differs from our human definition of relevance. In these few cases, the system might end up serving ads that don’t seem immediately relevant to users. We understand that increased ad relevance contributes to a positive experience for users, publishers, and advertisers, so we’re continuously working on ways to improve the relevance and quality of ads that appear on your sites.”

The email reads further, “With these changes users will start to see even more relevant ads, advertisers will generate more attractive returns by finding the right users, and publishers should make more money.”

If you’re one of the many content publishers who is monetizing your content with Google Adsense this is really good news.

But What Really Is Contextual Targeting, You May Ask?

Contextual targeting is the system whereby Google parses and analyzes the content of your page, conducts an auction among the relevant ads, then serve the winning ads whenever someone arrives on your webpage. Of course this is all done in the blink of an eye without your knowing it!

This matching of relevant ads to the content of your pages is quite a scientific challenge involving semantic analysis and machine learning.

I believe this new move will definitely make things much easier to make money with Google adsense. Because with more targeted ads being served on your pages the potential of your site visitors clicking on the ads will definitely go up.

The series of enhancements to AdSense’s contextual targeting capabilities is expected to be rolled out very soon. According to the Adsense Team there should be no worry about updating your AdSense account or ad code, as these changes will be applied automatically.

Besides, these changes won’t affect how other types of ads are matched to your sites; for instance, you’ll continue to see placement-targeted ads when advertisers bid to appear specifically on your pages.

Hi dear friends, I had to do this post to apologies for not posting on this blog running over a week now. Frankly I had some good new ideas to work on and I was ready to fire on when I discovered I had some problems.

Without any hint of what was happening I discovered I couldn’t access this blog on my computer. After some manovers I was able to contact my webhost who went into action immediately. When after some days my host sent a message that I can now access the site, I was over joyed and immediately got set to resume my post on Google Adsense.

But that was not to be as I soon discovered that though I could access the home page but not the admin dashboard. To worsen the whole situation, I couldn’t even login into my host’s clients area to log a complaint.

I don’t know if I will say getting in today was a miracle because I simply decided to try again this morning and to my surprise I was in without any trouble.

So as much as I’m happy that I’m can post this right now I want also want to really apologies for my absence. Please pardon me.

5. Focus on a specific topic. Adsense ads are served based on the topic of your site. Focusing on a topic that is of interest to your website visitors is important as the ads displayed will also be of interest the people viewing them. So focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that these persons will be viewing already.

Most webmasters know that Adsense generates a sizeable source of additional advertising income. That is why most of them use it to go after high paying keywords. They have with them the lists that tell what the keywords are and have already used various methods of identifying them. And yet, after putting up these supposed-to-be high paying keywords into their pages, the money they expected to come rolling in is not really coming in.

What is it that they are doing wrong?

Having the pages with the proper keywords is one thing. But driving visitors to those pages is another matter and often that is the factor that is lacking.

The thing is, to get visitors to your high paying keyword pages; you need to optimize your site navigation.

Stop for a moment and think about how visitors are using your website. After a visitor has landed on a certain page, they have the tendency to click on another page that sounds interesting. They get there because of the other links that appears on a page that they initially landed on. This is site navigation. It is all about enabling visitors to move about your site. And one way of maximizing your Adsense earnings.

A typical website has menu links on each page. The wording on these links is what grabs a visitor’s attention and gets them to click on one of the links that will take them to another page of that website. Links that have “free’ or “download” are oftentimes good attention-grabbers.

This navigation logic can also be applied to driving traffic to your high paying pages. There are some websites that are getting a lot of traffic from search engines, but have low earnings. The trick is to try and use some cleverly labeled links to get the visitors off that pages and navigate them to the higher earning ones. This is one great way of turning real cheap clicks to real dollars.

Before you begin testing if this same style will work for you and you website, you need to have two things. Something to track and compare and some high earning pages you want to funnel your site traffic to. An option is to select a few of your frequently visited pages. Now, the next thing to do is think of ways to get visitors viewing a particular page to try and click on the link that will take them to your high earning pages. Come up with a catchy description for that link. Come up with a catchy and unique description for the link. Think of something that people do not get to see everyday. There is nothing wrong with visiting other websites to see how they are going about maximizing their site navigation. “Hot pages” or “Most read” lists are very common and overly used already. Get to know the ones that many websites are using and do not try to imitate them.

Another way of doing it is to try and use different texts on different pages. That way you will see the ones that work and what does not. Try to mix things around also. Put links on top and sometimes on the bottom too. This is how you go about testing which ones get more clicks and which ones are being ignored.

Let the testing begin. Test and track until you find the site navigation style that works best for you site. Who knows you may just be the next adsense GURU in the house!

Making money online? How do you really do it? What is the secret formula?

These and many other questions are the ones I’ve heard expressed by friends and prospects that I’ve discoursed the issue of making money online with. And over the years I’ve come to understand that the one reason why many who want to make money online end up with disappointment is because they have not been able to really get sincere answers to these questions.

I’ve always felt some form of deep pain in my heart when I observe how a lot of wannabe internet marketing millionaires waste their time and resources chasing the latest fad in the market.

I’ve tried many times to really put my finger on the reason for this but I must say I’ve not been able to really hold one particular reason as responsible. Others have adduced it to the lure of instant wealth. Others have put the blame on the so called GURUs who desperately wants to keep on feeding on the innocent folks seeking some easy money on the net.

Whatever the reason, the glaring truth is that 95% of those who want to make money on the net end up not doing so! The failure rate has not in any way reduced over the years. Many people have been hoodwinked to believe that there is a secret formula and all their effort is expended trying to get this secret formula.

After years of really investigating this I’ve come to understand that there is truly only one core formula and that….

If you’ll only take a deep look at what is being offered all over the place you’ll understand that this is the truth. Just look around do you see the top internet marketers chasing gimmicks and fads? Just watch them closely. What do have specialized on is to make up some system that ensures you’re hooked to them in order for them to continue making the money off you!

They are never tired of coming up with one form of fad or the other. They band together to offer these as the latest “in thing”. They endorse each other’s products. Give bogus testimonials to each other. And being taken in by these offers you rush to get this new great tool. But before you even settle down to see what to do with it; there is another one in the market being promoted by another of these GURUs.

You need to grow up!

If you want to make money online then you simply need to stop for once and think again. As I mentioned above there is only one core system but many tweaks. Your one duty therefore is to know this one core system.

If you would get this right then you will understand what most people who try to make money online never learn. If you so wish write this on a note pad and stick it somewhere so that you can always remind yourself and yourself from straying away from and wasting more time.

Ask any person who is really making money online and they will tell you the same. That is, if they are truly sincere with you.

Want you to really think about that for a moment. Are you an entrepreneur or do you consider yourself as a self-employed business owner?

Of course I know that many running their own businesses refer to themselves as self-employed business persons. That’s understandable. However, I want you to reconsider yourself and take a critical look at your activities. Do they speak for you as an entrepreneur or they show that you’re simply a “worker” working on some business?

It’s funny but the truth is that life has thought us all lessons that if not carefully handled can hinder us in our quest for entrepreneurial success. I know that many of us have worked at some kind of job other than internet marketing before we launched our internet marketing careers.

In fact many of us still run their internet marketing business on part time basis. They work both on some job and their internet business with the hope that some day they will be able to make the break effortlessly.

But the unfortunate thing is that many wannabe internet marketing entrepreneurs carry over the mindset of a job ‘worker’ into the running of their online businesses. This group of online marketers is what I call the online “Self-employed-workers”! Frankly they are not entrepreneurs in the real sense because they are nothing but workers in a business!

Today we turn again to our series on building squeeze pages as a strategy for building your online business. So far we’ve touched on the basics of creating squeeze pages and what you need to create them. We have also looked at the essential elements of a squeeze page. In this post our focus is on how to make money with your squeeze page.

As you’re quite aware by now squeeze pages usually work well with free gifts. Nobody will want to give you their contact info if you’re not giving away something in exchange. The days when you could simply put up a signup form on your site and ask your visitors to signup for your newsletter are far gone by.

However, the fact that you have to give away something to get your visitors to subscribe does not mean should not make money with your squeeze page. You definitely know that you did not design your squeeze page simply because you want the people who joined to be just readers of your newsletter. You want them to become first and possibly life time customers. You definitely want to make money giving them what they want.

The question therefore is how do you make money giving away free gifts to your subscribers?
